This solo contains a high degree of chromaticism and rhythmic complexity. Mixed meters are present throughout the outer movements, while the middle movement requires careful subdivision and utilizes numerous tuplets. Parts available for trumpet in C or Eb.

Andrieu - Concertino No. 3

This solo allows the performer to showcase both their musicality and their agility within a limited range. The opening section requires careful subdivision of a slow pulse in a lyrical style, while the second half features passages of staccato 16th notes in a light style.

Arban - Carnival of Venice

Originally composed for cornet, Carnival of Venice is a true test of technique. An operatic introduction and a short presentation of the theme are followed by four variations, each requiring mastery of different articulations and fingering patterns.

Arban - Fantasie Brillante

Fantasie Brillante is another solo borrowed from the cornet repertoire. Like Carnival of Venice, this solo follows the Theme & Variations form with an introduction and requires mastery of various articulations including triple tonguing.
