Arutunian - Aria et Scherzo
Aria et Scherzo is a great solo for developing both lyrical playing and competence in an asymmetric meter. The Aria features a beautiful melody comprised of intervals smaller than a Perfect 5th, while the Scherzo is in 5/8 with occasional larger leaps within a chord.

Arutunian - Concerto
This piece has a cadenza-like intro, a quick main theme requiring precise double tonguing, multiple lyrical sections, and a cadenza to close the piece. It also gives performers the opportunity to use a cup mute.

Balay - Prelude et Ballad
Prelude et Ballad is excellent for showcasing beauty and consistency of tone from below the staff to the top of the staff. The Ballad also requires nimble fingers and a light articulation.
