Kaminski - Concertino for Trumpet

Untitled design-64.png

Concertino for Trumpet has three movements: Un Poco Vivaldi, Improvisazione, and Tarantella. Un Poco Vivaldi is in the style of Vivaldi's works for violin and contains chromatic lines and intervals of more than one octave. Improvisazione is very free and allows the artist to express using rubato. Tarantella is quick and light, with many fast repeated notes and a few scale-based flourishes.

Kennan - Sonata

Kennan's Sonata is an excellent solo for learning to play mixed, asymmetrical meters. It contains many chromaticisms but remains tonal. The performer must have a strong upper register, as Bs and Cs above the staff are scattered throughout all three movements.

*#Kiefe - Aria

Untitled design-66_edited.jpg

Aria is very heavily based on motives. The slurred eighth note motive is presented at the beginning of the piece, and a quicker, staccato motive is introduced halfway through. This solo is great for demonstrating both consistency of tone and rhythmic precision. It also gives the performer the opportunity to use a cup mute.

Range: D at the bottom of the staff to B above the staff
