#Rueff - Fantasie Concertante

Fantasie Concertante was composed in 1949 and contains a lot of chromaticisms within a somewhat-tonal context. It requires excellent flexibility to move quickly between registers and execute quick lip slurs and large intervals. It has a fanfare-like cadenza in the middle leading into a fast ending with chromatic licks and ascending arpeggios.

Mobiles is a slow, sparsely scored solo with a high tessitura. Confidence in the upper register is a necessity, as it frequently arrives at concert B and concert C above the staff. It maintains a singing style throughout but contains some faster intervallic lines at the end.

Untitled design-85_edited.jpg

Fantaisie in Eb requires a wide variety of techniques within a singing style. This solo tests one's ability to execute arpeggios in a variety of articulation patterns. It also challenges the performer's endurance due to the long sections with little rest. Only available for trumpet in C.

Range (C trumpet): G below the staff to Bb above the staff

Savard - Morceau de Concours

Morceau de Concours has a lyrical opening that gradually grows more technical until the brisk ending requiring triple tonguing. Most intervals are smaller than a 5th. The lyrical sections allow for the extensive use of rubato, while the faster sections require strict time and contain some syncopation.

Range: C below the staff to Ab above the staff (opt. D)
